Double Page Spread Analysis

This double page spread abides to some of the standard rules that editors come to when creating them. It is usual to have a image or images cover up the majority of the screen. In this case, you have a blown up portrait of Liam Gallagher, this could also suggest that it is exclusive. In the stand first it says "sounds like Liam's forehead is touching yours" and " goes in head first" which connotates the idea that it is a real insight with no thoughts locked up into the mind of Liam Gallagher. Liam also has a haircut that a lower class boy would have and is wearing a polo shirt from a similar scene which supports the idea that he isn't putting himself onto any upper class status and is relating back to his roots.

Pull quotes are used and enlarged within the text to entice people to the article. The reason for this is to give a feel that you a pulling ideas and quotes directly out of Liams mind.

As 'Beady Eye' is the title of the article, this shows that its not all about Liam and it is about his current band. However he is the main interveiwee of the whole article. the Contrasting yellow behind the original title colour blue draws attention to the title and also hints at him going into a second dimension about the new band, maybe looking at music from a different perspective.

The colourful aspects of the article draw the reader into all of the page as the bright colours draw you in but you see the contrasting parts of it ie the black and what parts. It also does a great job of highlighting the parts the editor wants you to read.

Music Magazine Research Analysis

This is the research that I conducted in preparation for my Music Magazine stories, look and name to give me a good idea of what people actually want to see. I know now what to call my magazine and the colour scheme to use because the public have thought what would suit it considering its target audience. I also know what not to put in my magazine e.g. there would be no point putting in articles on Tame Impala, Temples or REM because the public don't have an interest in those bands.

I decided to write articles on Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Jake Bugg and Stereophonics. My colour scheme will be grey, red and black. I will have some concert ticket giveaways. I will do some articles on Levi Strauss and Fred Perry.

Front Cover Analysis

This colour scheme in the magazine relates to its two sub-genres, Rock and Pop. The red and white relate the rock side and the yellow to the pop. This magazine isn't typically a pop influence however, as it is a Stone Roses special, the were considered pop music in the time of their fame, therefore it has to relate to the roots of the band. At the time The Stone Roses were biggest it was all about self expression the picture they used  can relate back to it as there is no exact pattern to it. It is done in such a way that someone has just throw paint over them. The Red used in the logo and some of the text can also be related back to rock as it can be related back to a darker subject matter.
