Music Magazine Contents Page Contact Sheet

When choosing the images for my contents pages I wanted to use pictures to give a taster but not give too much away so I chose a pictures on the editor and James Bagshaw from temples, used to entice the reader, and a close up picture of Jake Bugg with a pull quote. Both these pictures were good enough quality to use and gave the desired effect

Double Page Spread Conact Sheet

I decided to use pictures of Jake Bugg for my double page spread as I had been to see him recently. I wanted three different pictures showing three different stages in the concert so I used one during his first song, one during a intimate acoustic song and another at the end showing the carnage shadowed by the huge 'Jake Bugg' flag. the pictures I used were all high quality and captured everything I envisioned.

Music Magazine Front Cover Contact Sheet

I had to select a picture to use for my fontcover star so I took quite a few and crossed out those I didn't like I didn't like and ticked the ones I did. I reason I crossed those selected ones out was because I either didn't like the pose or the was a slight blur in the picture which would lead to difficulties when blowing the picture up for my front cover. The two I chose were very good quality and they both suited the type of cover star I wanted but I chose the one with my arms crossed because it showed the arrogance I wanted to exaggerate so I chose that one.

Contents Page Analysis

This contents page from Q Magazine has a house theme of red, white and black to keep im simple. It uses various pictures of pulls quote from the included articles to entice readers with oversized page number to direct them where to go. It also has separate list of content with 'features' and 'regulars' for reader discretion, this helps people find what they want to go to quickly and easily. It even has large pictures without a pull quote and just a page number to add a sense of mystery to it, making the reader want to find out what is going on. The way the character from The Gorillaz is very large and prominent on the page shows that the main story of the magazine will be about The Gorillaz.
